Winter Cheer in Victoria This July

From rocking out to chilling out, a host of events and indulgent experiences will bring some winter cheer to Victoria this July.

Embrace the romantic winter weather with a range of permanent and pop-up skating rinks giving locals and visitors a chance to enjoy this idyllic pastime as Victoria transforms into a winter wonderland.

The cooler waters see the return of the some of the ocean's most majestic creatures as Phillip Island's coastal play host to the annual migration of humpback and southern right whales. Enjoy the iconic wildlife, pristine white beaches and natural beauty of Phillip Island.

Escape the crisp cool air with luxury spa experiences that sound more like desserts than treatments. Rest and relax with these indulgent spa experience not to be done on an empty stomach.

When those sweet cravings strike, visitors to Melbourne can afford to be choosy on what will tickle their taste buds and satisfy their sweet soul.

For a limited time, sugar lovers can visit Sugar Republic, a pop-up museum which is dedicated to the celebration of desserts, candy and all things sweet at the former MacRobertson's confectionery factory, the birthplace of the Freddo Frog and Cherry Ripe. Visitors can also treat themselves to a number of traditional High Tea experiences in regional Victoria that don't disappoint the sweet-tooths.

Wash it down with one of Victoria's top tipples. Australian Bartender of the Year and Head Bartender at South Melbourne's Lûmé Restaurant Orlando Marzo has lifted the lid on his favourite Victorian wintery, brewery, cidery and distillery.

Though Bastille Day provides an excuse for Francophiles to flaunt their Frenchness, Melbourne's love affair with France offers year-round experiences for visitors to indulge in all things chic from fashion, food and the arts.

On the first anniversary of Melbourne hosting the World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards, Visit Victoria caught up with the Mongolian-born street artist Heesco to reflect on his laneway tribute to the world's top chefs.

The art of craft is still strong in Victoria with several makers in the region practicing their trade and earning their keep in trades that may not be too common nowadays.

In an Australian first, MTV and Visit Victoria have partnered to facilitate MTV Unplugged Melbourne, a series of special televised events showcasing the best local and international talent in Australia's home of live music.

Staying ahead of the trend has never been easier with July's latest openings.
